The 3rd Art Tech Innovation Event, held in August 2026, marked another milestone for the AI-Based Language Laboratory. The Lab hosted an interactive booth showcasing its latest initiative: globalizing artificial intelligence for Hong Kong and the wider world. Throughout the event, visitors explored a suite of English and Chinese AI language tools designed to be fully free, VPN‑free, and login‑free — lowering barriers to ensure genuine AI accessibility and equality.

Dr. Grace Leung, together with instructors from the Department of English Language and Literature, introduced the Lab’s upcoming chatbot,  Aybo demonstrating how AI can support students in refining writing, organizing ideas, and receiving personalized feedback. The booth attracted strong engagement from educators, students, and industry participants, reflecting growing interest in practical and ethical applications of AI in education.

The showcase not only highlighted the Lab’s commitment to community‑centered AI development but also provided a valuable opportunity for the HKSYU English Department to present one of its most promising innovations. With the public version of Aybo soon to be released, the event served as an exciting preview of the Lab’s ongoing contributions to Hong Kong’s AI‑driven future.
